Acoustic Kitty

"Acoustic Kitty" appeared as this week's IT Term of the Week on my department's bulletin board. I had never heard of this "term", but apparently one of our techs dug it up in the Telcom Dictionary (p.89) While it's not very relevant to modern technology, it was an amusing distraction when I looked it up.

Zodiac traits and seasons

So, I had a thought. Zodiac signs... each sign has classic personality traits attributed to them. (Aries=stubborn, Taurus=passive, Leo=aggressive) Maybe there is something to that, but not because of star alignment, but because of seasons. If there is a short period during pregnancy when development of such traits takes place, it would make sense that the amount of available nutrients and sun would affect it. This would have been more true in the past, as today, in our society, most plants are available year-round at the supermarket, so our nutritional intake does not vary with seasons as much. As a result most of us view Zodiac traits as quackery. But seasons still dictate the amount of sun we receive...

For all you audiophiles who like to explore new music: Lay Your Head Down by Karen Ann

This is my first post as a married woman. "Married woman" sounds so... aged, but I don't have a better way of phrasing it. And just for the record, I love it. I took every mental precaution against post-wedding depression, and the result is just the opposite. I talked myself into expecting that nothing will change, things will stay the same, etc. What I am actually feeling can only be described as marital bliss. Every time I stop to think about the fact that I'm married, it brings an involuntary smile to my face.

Of course, there was a ton of paperwork with the changing of my last name. Since we purchased honeymoon cruise tickets in my married name, and since I will need a passport for the cruise, I had to get all the changes done right away. The cruise isn't until the first week in September, but still, the passport can take a while to get processed. I am waiting.

Thank you to all who sent well wishes, and gifts. It was truly a remarkable event, wrapped in several wonderful days.

Email me if you want to see pictures. My email address stayed the same.

I'm working on shedding a few inches and/or pounds, as wearing skimpy clothing will be inevitable on the cruise. The result so far is that I feel stronger, but the scale still shows the same numbers.
... check out my current ipod favorite. She also performed Moi Lolita from the movie A Good Year, which is how I learned of her. Just fun, no?
